The Outpost is an area for young people— featuring harmonica, guitar and instrument workshops, large-scale games, circus arts, improv workshops, DJ dancing, board and table games, Open Mic and lots more!
The Outpost is for people ages 10-18.
Hours are: Friday 1:00 p.m. – midnight; Saturday 11:00 a.m. – midnight; Sunday 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
The Fernandez Sisters
Our Saturday evening concert features a very talented sister trio. Elise, Olivia, and Sophia Fernandez have been playing acoustic music most of their lives, exploring the boundaries of mountain music, jazz, and standards from the American songbook. Come and enjoy their unique sibling harmonies, precise musicianship, and pleasant presentation. The Outpost, Sat 6:00 p.m.
Join the Wandering Swordsman for this competitive and cooperative game that teaches a range of disciplines, including patience and honor, in organized, padded and combative play. These workshops serve as an introduction to the sport, explaining the goals, the equipment, safety, and a chance to give it a try. A quick wit and a clever comeback comes in handy when you are thinking on your feet. Maya and friends from the UNGC Drama department will lead you through these actor’s exercises that are fun and challenging; sometimes serious, and often hilarious. Try out your latest character voice or transform into another personality altogether as you learn to adapt to each new scenario. Bring your imagination and be ready to make a scene! Intro to Sleight of Hand
Join Django, as he explains some of the fundamentals of performance magic, in these two half hour workshops. You will learn the basics of sleight of hand, deception and some simple magic tricks (for entertainment purposes only). The Outpost, Fri 5:30 p.m. and Sat 2:00 p.m.
Mandala is an ancient Sanskrit word loosely translated as “circle.” A design that expands from the center to represent the infinite. Bruce is going to stretch a canvas and layout the basic design and would like you to add to the colors and patterns as the mandala evolves over the weekend. Open Mic and Talent Showcase

Teen Spring Dance

Aerialist, Liz Bliss of Imagine Circus will teach the techniques behind Aerial Silk skills. Soaring upward, spiraling downward and maneuvering her body into unimaginable positions while suspended in air by hanging fabric is something she makes look easy. Have you ever been touched by a kind word or message? Find a nice spot to leave a kindness rock as a random act of positivity for someone to discover and pick up. Sylvia and Gus McGee are the eldest of five, in a very musical family that spans generations. As they head into their early teens, they have already become veterans of the regions fiddler’s conventions and music festivals.
