The Outpost is a special area for young people, ages 10-18. Featuring art workshops, large-scale games, table games, basketball, tetherball and more—it’s a great spot to come hang! Hours are 11am-7pm. 

 Screen Printing  

Spreading love and light through creating, Jen Davila hand-prints all of her amazing art. Come learn the technique of screen printing with this designer from western NC. Thur 5:30pm 

 Chill Collective 

Chill Collective is a collaborative space to give teens the opportunity for a creative outlet. Board games, cards and art at hand. Connect with your community on collective projects! 
Thur 6:30pm; Friday 11am & 6pm; Sat 5pm 

Yo-Yo Basics 

Always wanted to learn how to be a yo-yo pro? Join the professionally trained master, Joey Rudzinski, to learn fun and amazing yo-yo tricks! Fri 12pm 

 Ping Pong Tournament 

Single-elimination ping pong tournament at The Outpost! Come early to sign up. Play to win prizes! First place: $10 + festival T-Shirt! Second place: SHGRF hat! Third place: One drink ticket to Coffee Café! Begins Friday at 1pm 

 Maker Space with Darby 

Clothespins Craft Tradition: pin your positive message on someone this Shakori! Fri 2pm, Sat 3pm  

Wind Chimes with found wood sticks, string, beads, bells & any other added decor. Fri 2pm 

CD Weaving Dream Catchers using yarn and hanging decor. Fri 2pm 

Scoobidou/Boondoggle: Trinkets using the plastic string from childhood to make jewelry, keychains, etc. Sat 3pm 

Candle Making 

Come learn the ancient art of candle-making in a fun and eclectic environment. Alexis will help guide our participants through the process! Fri 4pm 

 Colored Pencil Magic 

All levels welcome! Get ready for a fun experience bringing visions to life in vivid hues. Explore color theory, unique mark-making, blending and more to bring your art to life. All supplies provided; students are welcome to bring their own if they prefer. Fri 5pm 

 Hooping with Tammy 

Join Tammy Harrell Shearer, a seasoned professional hooper, for an exciting hooping class! Whether this is your first time touching a hula hoop or you’re a seasoned pro, Tammy is sure to have some tricks and tips to help you FLOW! Sat 11am 

 Leather Working 

Come learn Leather Making 101 with Coty Bleakley. Coty is a tradesman that practices old craftsmanship like carpentry and leatherworking. Take home a new skill and timeless tradition. Sat 12pm 

 Kung Fu 

Dive into the world of Chinese Martial Arts with Maestra Imari. Participants will be guided through the fundamentals, spirit and core philosophies of Kung Fu, including both the mellow and active sides, and end with breathwork/meditation. Sat 1pm 

 Vinyl Art 

Join Taryn in making your very own vintage vinyl bowl! (Record donations welcome.) Sun 11am 

 Tie Dye 

Join Rebecca Benson from Blooming Bear Dyes for eclectic, one-of-a-kind tie dye using fiber-reactive liquid dyes. Inspired by humanity, nature and the vast array of rainbow colors the Earth brings. Choose from a range of sizes and three designs to make the coolest tie-dye around. Sat 2pm & Sun 12pm 

 Pro Jam 

Bring your own instrument to enjoy a Jam session with the incredibly talented Hunter McBride. Seize the opportunity to chat and play with a NC native musician. Hunter has played in bands for over a decade, his current project being Oh No! Casino. Sat 4pm 

 Juggling Basics 

Join Joey Rudzinski for beginner juggling classes. Learn the basics of three-ball juggling with a Ringling Brother Circus School trained professional performer. Sat 6pm 

 Circus Arts 

Learn the fun and amazing world of circus arts. Joey will teach students the diablo, balancing, devil sticks, rings and spinning plates. Sun 1pm
