The Outpost is an INCLUSIVE space exclusively dedicated to our teens/tweens, ages 11-17,
offering scheduled creative workshops; open activities like basketball, tetherball and other games; and simply a safe space to chill together. Open daily 11am-7pm
Chill Collective
Chill Collective is a collaborative space to give you a creative outlet. Board games, art and cards, as well as MAD surprises (have no fear, no one is losing their heads here) come to connect with your community on collective projects! Thur 4pm & 6pm, Friday 6pm, Sat 6pm
Screen Printing
Spreading love and light through creating, Jen Davila hand-prints all of her magical art. Come learn the technique of screen printing with this designer from western NC. Thur 5pm
Hooping with Jordan
Start your day with a morning hoop jam led by longtime hooper, Jordan! Learn essential on- and off-body techniques, build your flow, and start nailing your favorite tricks to impress your friends. Fri 11am
Incense Making
Enjoy the relaxing, ancient art of hand-rolled incense. Choose from a variety of aromatic herbs and hand-form them into your own custom scents. Fri 12pm
Mad Hatters Top Hats
Join the party! In this magical workshop, upcycle and reimagine common materials into whimsical top hats perfect for any Mad Tea Party of Festival Fun. Fri 1pm
TweedleDee & TweedleDum
Come show off your skills in the ring! Who will win—TweedleDee or TweedleDum? Bump it out, sumo style, in this tournament with a Wonderland Twist! (Must be 11+ and have a parent or guardian present to sign a waver.) Fri 2:30pm
Percussion Building
Johnny is back at Shakori Hills with his love and skills in percussion! Join us to make hand-crafted percussion instruments out of cured and cut bamboo. Fri 4pm
Build & Flow Poi
Raving Rowan and her delightful assistant are spinning up some fun for you! On Friday, create poi using everyday items. On Saturday, learn skills to put that poi to use! ALL levels welcome. (Bring the poi made on Friday or your own.) Build: Fri 5pm; Flow: Sat 12pm
Eco Printing & Natural Fiber Dying
Connect with the Earth while creating unique art! Using beauty supplied by nature, watch your projects come to life as Rebecca explains how the sun and plants affect the fibers that make our world. Sat 11am
Tie Dye
Join Rebecca Benson from Blooming Bear Dyes to make the coolest tie-dye around with fiber-reactive liquid dyes. Inspired by nature and the Earth’s vast array of rainbow colors. Choose from a range of sizes and designs. Sat 1pm; Sun 12:15pm
Wire Wrapping
Learn the fundamental skills of wire-wrapping jewelry. Utilizing a variety of gemstone cabs and copper wire, you’ll leave with a pendant that you made yourself! This workshop has limited space and is reserved for our teen and tween community. (11+ only please) Sat 2pm
Candle Making
Learn the ancient art of candle-making in a fun and eclectic environment. Alexis will help guide our participants through the process! Sat 4pm
Hoop Knockout Basketball Tournament
Flex your shooting skills against others in this classic Knockout tourney. Last players standing win prizes and bragging rights! Divided into age groups. Sat 5pm
Kung Fu
Dive into Chinese Martial Arts as Maestra Imari guides you through fundamentals and core philosophies of Kung Fu, including both the mellow and active sides. End with breathwork/meditation. Sun 11:15am
Improv Tea Party
Show off your improv skills, Alice in Wonderland style, in this fun, Farewell Tea Party. Each participant will have a shot at a Mad Hatter, March Hare, or Dormouse style improv
monologue! Participants are encouraged to dress up in their wildest festival gear and be ready to get in character. Sun 1:15pm
