Be a Volunteer
As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization community, the Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival has produced 39 festivals and counting with the support of countless volunteers. Throughout the weeks leading up to, during, and following the festival, nearly 500 volunteers contribute their time and energy to bring the beauty that is Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival to life, and safely pack it away for the next time. In return for their time and service, volunteers earn their tickets to the festival itself.
We love and value our volunteers! Without them, there would be no Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival! Thanks to their years of service, they have helped build Shakori Hills, making it a unique community experience.
Join our Shakori Hills Volunteer Family today and get involved simply by clicking the link above to sign up. Once submitted, our volunteer coordinator will review and follow up. Sign up is on a first come first serve basis and early signups receive first choice of preferred shifts.
As a volunteer, in addition to putting smiles on festival faces, you also receive a 4-Day pass. We also invite volunteers to work four hours on single days if they don't plan to attend the whole weekend.
A 4-Day pass is earned when you work 12 hours during the Festival, or 14 hours prior to the Festival.
Are you a night owl who wouldn't mind working your volunteer shifts at night?
Sign up for just TWO harder-to-fill late night shifts (instead of three) to earn a weekend pass.
OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE:
Green Team (4-8)
Security/Gates (9-midnight)
Parking (8-midnight)
Remember, no matter how many shifts you sign up for, they all must be on the same crew.

The GrassRoots Festival is a non-profit organization, which raises money for arts, education, and other area non-profits. It is the intent of the organization to create a free, relaxed and open community during the event. It does this by operating almost completely through the effort of over 500 volunteers! However, if even one volunteer does not show up to one of their shifts, it effects the efficiency of the entire festival operations and, in order to compensate for that vacancy, a great deal of extra work by others is necessary. If you sign up to volunteer, please, fulfill your obligation, in order to contribute to the amazing, self-run city that we all create each year! In the spirit of the GrassRoots Festival community – fulfill your shifts.
Thank you for Volunteering! We couldn’t do it without you!
